Library

Our library provides a social space to meet, collaborate, research, learn, share, and relax. The staff work to develop a reading culture and raise the levels of information literacy across the school by leading students through processes which empower them to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers and skillful, efficient and discerning researchers.

The Oliver library management system, together with the ACEN digital library provide 24/7 access to a wealth of authentic, authoritative, age appropriate resources to specifically meet student and staff needs.

Resources include fiction and non-fiction books, ebooks, audiobooks, videos, journals, encyclopaedias, articles, websites, learning objects, CDs and DVDs.

We encourage students to be curious, widen their interests and, through exposure to quality literature, become well-read, discerning readers for life.

The library is open weekly during school hours, including lunchtimes, from Wednesday—Friday.

Our students and their parents are enthusiastic supporters of the library and the children borrow regularly.

The prime aim of the library selection policy is to support the curriculum and to cater to the existing interests of the children. We also participate in Premier’s Reading Challenge and Book Week.
